''Banana Ice Cream With Fudge Chunks & Walnuts''
Well I'll admit that I'm a pretty big Banana fiend. I love banana & Peanut Butter or Banana & Nutella sandwiches. I add bananas to my morning chocolate or vanilla protein Oats and sometimes, yes sometimes, I'll just eat the sucker right out of it's peel (Crazy eh?). As I walked through my local Walmart I noticed they stocked Ben & Jerry's for the first time and that they were on sale. The Flavours were limited to Chunky Monkey, Half Baked, Cherry Garcia, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Chocolate Fudge Brownie. I took this opportunity to try Chunky Monkey and I also picked up Cherry Garcia for the future (Half Baked didn't appeal to me since the mash ups of both flavours scored very low with me).
As I opened the pint the one distinct thing about it is the Banana aroma. The banana base smelled delicious and as I scooped in, tasted even better. I've only tried chocolate and vanilla Ben & Jerry bases and I felt like they really got this Banana base down. It was delicious.... and I love anything banana. You could tell the Banana case was made with real bananas because you could literally see little ''grains'' in the base like you would see if you sliced up a real banana. I was impressed. As for the mix ins... meh. The fudge flakes were tired and the walnuts made my mouth dry. The Banana ice cream really saved this pint or else it would have been a disaster and probably the worst of all my ratings to date.
Verdict: 7.5/10 - A decent score mainly rewarded because of the delicious banana base. The mix ins were weak. If they added different and more mix ins (maybe some chocolate hazelnuts & chocolate hazelnut cookies?), this pint would score much higher. I would buy again but just to satisfy my Banana Ice Cream craving.
